About

VIIT in collaboration with IEEE Education Society, Pune Section, taking this initiative to promote social innovation through conceptualising the Idea of the S.T.A.R Hackathon as the flagship event. The S.T.A.R stands for “fusion of Science and Technology for Agriculture and Rural Development”.

Agriculture is contributing a major portion to our national economy. In India, more than two-third of the population is directly or indirectly engaged in agriculture. Sustainable agriculture in terms of food security, rural development and employment, and support of technology for environmentally sustainable human society is essential.

The Agricultural and rural development is the very big area of investigation, research, and innovation in the current era. Sustainable technologies are essential for agricultural and holistic rural development.
