What to Build

Challenge Themes:

Dive deep into specific industry challenges across Banking and financial Services, Manufacturing, Retail/e-Commerce, Media and entertainment, and Innovation (GenAI). Each theme will have specific goals and desired outcomes.

GenAI Tools:

Harness the power of Google Cloud's GenAI tools like Vertex AI, Duet AI, GenAI app builder, Model Garden, and more, to tackle real-world problems with cutting-edge AI solutions.

Collaboration (Optional):

Form a team of up to 4 members to leverage diverse skill sets and spark your collective creativity.

What to Submit

Submit a compelling vision for your AI solution, highlighting its impact, feasibility, and alignment with the chosen theme.

Bring your idea to life by building a functional prototype using Google Cloud's GenAI tools.

  • Provide instructions for judges to access and test your solution (test account, website link, sandbox/production access).
  • Include a brief video (3 minutes) showcasing your AI creation in action. Upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and make it public.
  • Submit a text description explaining your project's goals, functionalities, and technical implementation.
  • Clearly identify the theme and category you are submitting for (reinvention of experiences, text/chat model, image/audio model, positive social change, etc.).

The right to Intellectual Property (IP) resides with the Participant or the participating company.

No, the hackathon is open to participants from all corners of the Asia Pacific region, including India, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.

Participants have the chance to win cash prizes worth USD 35,000 and exclusive tickets to the Google I/O Connect Event.

Participants can leverage Google Cloud's GenAI tools, including Vertex AI, Duet AI, GenAI app builder, Model Garden, and more.

Participants need to submit a clear proposal, a functional prototype using GenAI tools, and documentation. The documentation includes instructions for judges, a brief video showcasing the AI creation, and a text description.

Submissions will be evaluated based on Impactful Vision, Technical Merit, User Experience, and Innovation & Creativity. Criteria include problem alignment, relevance to the Asia Pacific region, coding expertise, scalability, user experience, integration with GenAI Tools, innovation, and positive social impact.

Participants can network, collaborate, and receive mentorship during Phase 2: Prototype Development & Mentorship through designated channels on the hackathon platform.
