These terms and conditions ("Terms and Conditions") shall govern the International Women’s Day Lensathon that is organised by Hack2skill ("Organiser").
The term “Lensathon” will be used to refer to the International Women’s Day Lensathon in the document.
By registering for the Lensathon, the participants ("Participants") agree to abide by all the terms and conditions.
The organiser reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or change the date, venue, and time of the Lensathon. There will be no refund of any personal expenses incurred by participants if the Lensathon is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. The organiser reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions without prior notification and you agree to be bound by such terms and conditions.
Participants are to submit their registration via the microsite only. The organiser is not
(i) Late, lost, damaged, incomplete, or misdirected entries, responses, or other correspondence, whether by e-mail or postal mail or otherwise;
(ii) Theft, destruction, unauthorised access to or alterations of entries; or
(iii) Phone, electrical, network, computer, hardware, software program, or transmission malfunctions, failures, or difficulties.
This is an individual event and not a team event. Individual participants have to build lenses on the Lens Studio and submit the same via the participant dashboard, completing necessary requirements that include, the Lens ID and Lens Link of the lens developed by the participants on the microsite for evaluation.
Participants can submit multiple lenses. In case a participant has submitted more than five lenses, then the last five lenses submitted on the dashboard will be considered for evaluation.
Registrations and lens submissions for the Lensathon are open till 27th March’22.
Various Bootcamps will be conducted during the course of the Lensathon, details of which will be present on the Lensathon website, predefined communication platforms like Discord, Telegram, or Whatsapp, and the same will be communicated to the participants via registered email address. Attendance at the bootcamps is optional.
Individuals of the age of 13 years and above are eligible to participate in the International Women’s Day Lensathon.
This is an individual event.
Participant must be an Indian citizen.
The winners will be selected by a panel of judges ("Judges"). By submitting any Lensathon entry, entrants release the organiser, its sponsors, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents, and advisors from any liability for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the decisions of the judges.
The organiser reserves the right to suspend, amend, or modify any of these rules, terms, conditions, or judging criteria with or without prior notice to participants. Other modifications will be announced via the Lensathon microsite and emails. The Organiser has the final decision when it comes to all matters of dispute arising from the Lensathon or the prizes.
The judging criterion will be Technicality, Originality, and Creativity.
The judges' decisions will be final, binding, and uncontestable. The decision of the organiser will be final and binding under all circumstances.
Participants must comply with these Terms and Conditions at all times during the Lensathon, comply with all legal requirements, and refrain from creating content that is unlawful or otherwise objectionable, or any content that may be construed as such.
Participants must not use any content protected by third-party rights or subject to third-party confidentiality obligations, and they must grant the organiser permission to use the content for the intended purposes.
Participants agree that all the organisers’ decisions will be final and binding on all matters related to the Lensathon.
Prizes are non-transferable by the winner. Accepting a prize makes a prize recipient solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to accepting such a prize.
The cash rewards will be paid within 100 days of the date of the Lensathon.
The cash rewards will see a deduction of TDS as per the government rules and regulations.
Hack2skill reserves the right to remove or block Content/User deemed inappropriate for one or more of the following reasons-
● Against the Terms and Conditions of Hack2skill.
● Offensive and unlawful conduct or activity.
● Development of offensive lenses, hurtful and disrespectful to the sentiments of a particular gender, religion, or caste.
● Lenses that do not comply with Snap lens submission guidelines.
● Uploading or utilizing pornographic, threatening, humiliating, repugnant, racial, sexist, or ethical abuse, or otherwise objectionable Content on Hack2skill or Lens Studio.
● Disobeying any signed contract with Hack2skill and/or the organiser.
● Uploading copyrighted or plagiarised material as one’s own, without prior knowledge or permission to do so.
● Impersonation of a person’s name, gender, age, or false declaration of self-declaration.
● Pretending to be affiliated or connected with an organization in any way, with which you are not involved or misrepresenting the extent of your function or role with an affiliated organization or the source, identity or Content transmitted.
Hack2skill reserves the right to revoke access to any user who is deemed to be in violation of the foregoing. Hack2skill and the Organiser also reserve the right to disqualify the user who is found guilty of the above.
We strictly prohibit plagiarism of any kind. Any lens that has been submitted by a participant if found copied directly from another source will be disqualified on the spot. The lenses that a participant submits must be produced during the Lensathon phase.
Photographic and video recordings
The participants agree that any photo or video containing their likeness or voice, as may be shot or filmed or recorded during the Lensathon, may be published by the Organiser, in part or in full, with or without stating the participant's name, on any medium, including but not limited to the Organiser's website and social media channels, at the Organiser's sole discretion. This authorization will be given for 10 years and will be valid worldwide.
Code of Conduct
We fully support appropriate behavior by all participants during the Lensathon, including during any official and unofficial activities. We expect all attendees, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and staff to help us make the Lensathon, a place that welcomes and respects all participants, regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, national origin, ethnicity, or religion. We will not tolerate harassment of participants in person, online, or in any other form.
Examples of harassment include offensive comments, verbal threats or demands, overly sexualized images in public spaces, intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of sessions or Lensathon, and unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention.
We expect all participants-attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers to follow the Code of Conduct during the Lensathon. This includes conference-related social Lensathon at off-site locations, and in related online communities and social media. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
The Organiser is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, photography or audio/video recording against reasonable consent, sustained disruption of talks or other Lensathon, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Overly sexual language and imagery are not appropriate at the venue, including hacks, talks, workshops, parties, social media, and other online media.
Hacks created at our Lensathon, are equally subject to the anti-harassment policy.
Participants who are asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the organizing committee immediately.
Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the Lensathon, at the discretion of the organiser. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the organiser may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the venue.
Please report any incidents or concerns to the Lensathon, organizing committee.
The terms and conditions herein shall prevail over any inconsistent terms, conditions, provisions, or representations contained in any other promotional or advertising materials for the Lensathon.
